Default 422 front sight options?

I have a nice 422 , 6" barrel with adjustable rear sight and fixed black ramp front sight. The ramp is intergal to the slide. The gun is very accurate but I have a hard time with the black on black sight picture. If the front sight were removable I would swap it for a fiber optic or gold dot sight.
Seems like my only option is to paint the ramp and /or swap the rear sight blade with a white outline version of such a thing exists.
Your thoughts or suggestions for improving the sight picture would be appreciated. Thanks

I own the exact pistol you describe. Bought it in 1988, and the 422 /622 /2206 /2214 /2213 series have become my favorite .22 auto pistols.
I had the same issues with the front sight you describe and sometime in the 1990s I installed a blaze orange ramp insert using a front sight insert kit from Brownells BROWNELLS FRONT SIGHT INSERT KIT | Brownells. That solved the issue perfectly for me.
It may be not be something you want to undertake on your own, but any competent gunsmith can handle the job for you.
Alternatively, painting the ramp can give excellent results as well (if done correctly), and can prove quite durable.
Good luck!

That would be great.... but I dont have the proper machines for that task. I suppose I could use a file on the ramp and modify it to the target profile but I am not that brave yet. I will try some white paint on the ramp first.

I have a 442 and I painted the front sight with testers model paint in gloss yellow. In fact ALL my black front ramped sights on all handguns are that color.
They pick up the light better than any other color. JMO
