I have a model 41 with serial no. UAF 4895 what yr was it made

Someone will probably give you an answer shortly. I always send an email to Smith and Wesson and they respond with the month and year the the handgun was initially shipped from the factory usually within a couple of business days.

Prefix UAR is 1998,(my 41) so either earlier that year or 1997,would be a good estimate.

When I looked it up it stated 1997 in the source I used. I believe I have seen that gun actually as well. Its in very nice condition.
