I am a woman with small hands and recently bought a S&W 41. The OEM grips were too large for my hands so I ordered the Herritt Trainers which I just got. There is no way to access the slide lock tab since the top of the grip butts right up against the tab. Has anyone solved this problem? It is certainly usable but being an NRA Instructor I like to have the slide locked open to be sure the gun is clear when first taking it out of the bag. Also, I think I saw where someone came up with a sort of solution to the "impossible to budge" safety. Any ideas about this? Love this gun. It makes you look good for sure! I am using iron sights , standing position. Anxious to try the Venom red dot that came with it. Oh, the Trainers are very nice too. Thanks

The grips should be relieved for the tab on the inside and the tab itself should just clear the top of the grip. it should pop up locking the slide back on an empty magazine and allow your thumb to press it down to release.

If not working correctly I suggest you contact Herretts, They are very customer oriented.

CarolH Welcome to the Forum from Canada . If needbe Harritt will alter them to suit you I am sure. Maybe have your local Gunmaker take a quick look at it. I am sure he could Fit it to suit your hand.

Thanks scene and Barrie for your ideas. My husband thinks he can cut out a notch for the slide lock tab but I will contact Hermits first. They are really nice people. Just seems odd that they don't allow for that opening for the tab. The grips are great though.
