Welcome to the Forum,
I posted about this particualar pistol a few months ago when it was for sale. Yes, it's early....the 4th one produced. Are you selling it in Canada or are you exporting it?

What happened to the box and papers? That may have a significant hit to the price.

I think you have a very desirable and historically collectable pistol. Sadly the current political climate is not hand gun friendly as you are aware. Probably more a buyers market than a seller's at the moment. I know of one Canuck Forum member who may want to talk to you. Hopefully he see's this thread. If I had the available Sir Robert Borden's I would be all over it......

I made a mistake I bought 2 model 52s and I did get the stocks and mags and screwdriver and papers. Box wasn’t for the pistol. But all else was ,there no wrench. Would like a proper box and wrench if anyone has one.

I donít know about the Canadian gun market but if you paid around $1700 US for the gun only my guess is youíd be lucky to break even. Did you in fact just get the gun and how many mags? You may need to hold onto it for 5 or 10 years.

I started collecting in 2008 after I retired and thatís when prices really took off. When ever I decide to liquidate Iíll do okay on some but Iím sure I will lose on several also. Thatís okay, I enjoyed owning them.

Very interesting, I always had the 52 serial as starting from 50001?
I wonder if the standard catalog has it right. 50000 or 50001
At 50001 This one would then be correct as the 4th one..
At 50000 it would be the 5th..

Yes semantics..
A beauty to have in the collection for sure..

I would think that the owner of 50001 would think it very important.
I usually let errors like this pass, however I thought someone might know the correct number.. Its interesting seeing all the errors both here and in books.. If I did not question it.. the first model 41 would still be documented wrong at 1401..

I have been looking at other people's guns of all brands and ages, and have been watching for a consecutive serial number to a gun I own at gun shows for decades, and on the internet since it began allowing access to such information. I never found one. UNTIL NOW!

I have a Model 52 50005 as new in its original box. One of us should buy or sell to make a consecutive pair! (Might be hard considering the different countries. But maybe not impossible?)

For general information if anyone is interested, 50005 shipped May 22, 1962 to Freeland Scope Stand Company, Rock Island, Illinois. Anyone know anything about that company?
