I've been a TDA (DA/SA) shooter since I first fired a Model 659 back in the 1980s.
Lately, I've been trying to broaden my horizons by practicing with some of the DAO (Double Action Only) pistols I have acquired or converted.
I have average size hands and I tend to shoot the straight and curve grips equally well in TDA.
But when it comes to DAO, I struggle with the straight grips and find it much easier with the curved grips.
I believe this is not because the curved grips are larger but rather that they change the angle of my trigger finger.
I'm referring to the double stack 9mm and 40s&w full size pistols.
This puzzles me as S&W saw fit to equip all of the DAO pistols I've seen with straight grips (as well as all of the 40s).
What are your opinions?
Why did S&W eschew the curved grip for the straight grip except on the 5906?
DAO (and TDA) shooters, please lay it out for me.
