Hi all. I have a question. Can I take a slide assembly off a CS45 and install a CS45D slide in its place?

Thanks in advance advance

That probably wont work because you need a DAO hammer and sear.

You might try to contact s&w and see if they will do a DAO conversion for you. I doubt it, but worth a try. If the 1st CS rep says no, be sure to call back again. You just might get a different answer from another rep. It happens.

Tarnhelm Supply was doing 3rd gen DAO conversions for some time. I would try them too. Good luck! Regards 18DAI

Yes, you can.

But now you will have a DA/SA pistol without a safety/decocker.

However there is a way to convert to "Chiefs Special" double action only that's not very expensive.

What are you trying to achieve?

John
