5946TSW
Picked up this 5946TSW for a price I'm happy with ($270) but I'm curious about something. There's what I believe is a Brinks logo etched into the slide. Anyone know if this is done at the factory as part of a production run for a large volume customer, or done by Brinks after the fact? I don't suppose it really matters, but like I said, I'm curious.

That is a Brinks logo that's easily found doing a Google search.
Referring to the 3rd Gen chart, that was likely made between 2000-2002. However that SN# prefix, BDHxxxx, doesn't show up in the SCSW #4 for that date range, or anywhere else that I saw. That maybe because it hasn't been documented yet or it could be because it was used specifically for a Brink order.
Call S&W & ask them what info they have on that SN#.
No guess on whether the factory or Brinks added the logo.

Was that the gun offered for auction claiming it had been a LEO gun?

The item description did say it was originally a LE trade in; but that wasn't my primary reason for the purchase. I thought getting a 3rd gen TSW for under three bills was reason enough. First thing I did was clean it. It was filthy inside, and way over-lubed. Like someone sprayed it but never wiped it off. Cleaned up it looks fine inside. Like I think is the case with the majority of LE pistols, it has lots of holster wear but not a lot of shooting wear. In a Brinks gun that would apply even more, I'd suppose.
There are issues I'm having with the seller, notably a lack of response on his part to email or voicemail, because the magazine he included with it is for a .40 cal 3rd gen, not a 9mm. I'm not going to have a hissy fit because the .40 will fit other S&W's I have, and I already have at least a couple dozen 59 series mags. It did also come with a 30+ round S&W 9mm mag, so I'm putting that with my Marlin Camp 9's.

I have always assumed logos like that were applied at the factory as part of the contract.
