Default 4516-1

I picked up a 4516-1 yesterday from a LGS. A couple of photos are included (need to work on the lighting for next time). No box or paperwork but got it for $425 plus $30 for an extra magazine, seems reasonable. The included mag has the yellow follower and the extra new one has a black follower that I hope works OK. It was a little dirty but cleaned up easily and looks like it wasn't fired very much, just a few light scratches where the last owner apparently didn't know how to assemble it properly. The bore looks perfect. I've ordered a set of Hogue grips for it since they're the type I like best. The guide rod is the aluminum two piece type but isn't worn very much and the end is tight. I'll probably make up one of my stainless steel one piece rods when I get a chance, and keep the original as a spare. Hope to check it out at the range next Monday.

I found one last month. Based on the difference in condition (yours appearing to be in better shape), I'd say you got quite a fair deal.

I have had mine since the early 90's. I have 4566 & 4506 uppers for it. I put the MIM trigger and hammer in to smooth out the trigger pull.

So, a 3rd gen Smith .45 that is the size of a Colt Officer's Model(don't own one) or Star M45 Firestar (own one. love it. would like this even more)
I like it.
Would go great with my 4566.
I need to be on the lookout for one.
Might make my early 6906 jealous, though.

Nice pistol. If your factory grips fit on a 4546 model, would you be willing to sell them to me ?

I will sell the grips, but they would have to come with the entire pistol. My 4516-1 is NIB and never been fired, so I would not want to break up the set.
