Hello All, I found this nice Model 39-2 ca 1981 at the Oaks, PA Guns Show.

D.T.56, Yeah I totally agree and have dealt with Jeff more than a few times.
Since I'm more of a revolver guy I asked him quite a few questions this time around and as always he was very helpful and a wealth of knowledge.
Kudos to his wife as well, she's friendly and so organized.

I see a little wear on the edge of the box.
J/K. Wow, that gun is amazing, the best 39-2 I’ve seen. Congrats!

Very fine 39-2. It wasn't even made yet when I bought my circa 1974 39-2 in 1980. BTW, I don't know what I had back then, I just walked into a pawn shop and bought what looked like the best pistol to me. My first center fire semi auto pistol.

antilamr, I'll just say Jeff gave me what I consider a really good deal on, in my opinion, an almost minty pistol.

Bozz..., I have a buddy who is 20 years older than me and when he sees today's prices of classic firearms he always said he would have bought a crate of them if he only knew.
You just never know.

Compliments on a stunning pistol.
There's one on the way to my FFL purported to be in similar condition. I'm anxious to see what I bought. It'll join my three others; one each in blue and nickel both nice but not pristine and a Connecticut State Police commerative NIB.
I guess I like 39-2's.

Suidsix, thank you sir and as for the knife, that's a late 70's Blackie Collins design he did for S&W.
There were a whole series he did that got the company into knife manufacturing. (See my other post for detailed pics)

Kobsw

Man THAT is a gorgeous example, wow!
And you guys that have genuine skill with a camera, you sure make it look easy. It's a very high grade pistol but the quality of the photo -- that's a stunner as presented.

Sevens, believe it or not the majority of my gun photo's are taken with an iPhone 6s.
All good pictures start with the desired lighting and staging of your subject. (I always combine natural and incandescent light sources together and never have just one)
Finally, try, try and try some more.

Kobsw

Oh I have no doubt whatsoever that an iPhone can take a fantastic picture, but the pictures you posted drive home my point. And my own laughable experience tells me that you are giving your iPhone some of the credit that YOU deserve yourself. I've never taken a gun picture that looks like those.

JD Driver, It has but it's been well taken care of.
Anyway, I've never owned a gun that's never not been fired outside the factory but even if I did it wouldn't be unfired for long...lol

Some 39-2's
That's a great looking gun and I'm sure it's worth every penny you paid for it. If you like the 39-2's there are 4 in this picture. Two Blue and Two Nickel. The rest are 39's, 439's, 539's and 639's. Oh yea, and one pre-39.

Now that my keyboard is covered with drool......
All I can say is, gorgeous. Simply gorgeous.
In the dictionary, beside the definition of the word "Score", is a picture of your 39-2.

Speedgun'r, lol right...
I only got a very nice box and paper liner with it, but I've already sourced mags, tools, period correct paperwork and a holster.
I want this one to be complete.

I'm unable to take a decent photo or even post one right side up. But, here's what arrived yesterday. Unfired, 2 correct magazines complete paperwork, numbered box but no cleaning kit. Serial number puts it in 1977-78. Would you mind posting a photo of the proper cleaning kit so I know what to search for?
This gun is spectacular with the exception of a small dimple on the grip front that went all the way into the aluminum. The seller claims it wasn't there when he shipped it.

Redundant but I too will chime in and compliment on just how fine that gun looks and your nice eye for making the image appealing with the added items. iPhones seem to do a better job with light color balance than many expensive DSLR camera bodies, still you did a fine job!
It looks like the grip has not been sealed, the wood looks raw but in a very good way, I love natural wood, not a fan of 'shiny' wood. I had a gorgeous 52-2, this reminds me of it and I have been keeping my eyes open for one of these.
Enjoy it whether you shoot it or put it up in your iPhone studio and 'shoot' it for a magazine cover
