Default Model 52 Trigger Pull questions

Hello , I have recently started shooting more than I have in the last few years and have been shooting my 52-1 I have had for many years , I am not comfortable shooting it in it's current state
It has always had a very light crisp trigger pull but it seems to have loosened up even more I had a double tap the other day
and if the slide is jacked back on an empty mag when I drop it
the hammer will fall most the time although it does not fall with
cycling a round , Wondering if being a target special Pistol it the trigger pull was adjustable on this model , I have 8 mags for this and want to start shooting it again.

I am following this thread closely since I am also shooting my 52-1 a lot these days.
Until you get things resolved, I would recommend keeping the safety engaged until ready to fire. It is a hammer blocking safety so will prevent an ND when dropping the slide, if the hammer follows.

What is your trigger weight at? For Bullseye Center Fire competition it should be 2.5 pounds minimum. If it is low the sear spring can be bent to raise weight and sear engagement.

Default 3 try average

The average is 2 pounds about in line with my Agner M80 22 cal
I can prob deal with it just being careful but still don't like the fact of the hammer falling on an empty mag slide drop , Is that a trait of other 52's as well ?

Thanks for the Schematic on that much Obliged

I did notice that there is what appears to a spring / plunger
that runs just above the trigger guard and if that was weak would it attribute to these weak values ? If so is it a part that would be available
Thanks to all that come back on this thread

Guess that would be the drawbar plunger / spring seems not available anymore looks like that tweek might be the way to go
if the parts thing is a dead end or not viable in the first place
just an observation on my part no expert on 52's obviously

I don't think it would be the drawbar plunger spring. Sounds like adjustment screw, upper, might be off, not likely, The sear spring might be loose. Being a 52, every part is fit to work with the others. Usually you can't throw a part in and expect it to function as normal.
The first thing I would check is the sear spring being tight. With the slide off stocks removed and backstrap spring and plunger out, the sear and hammer and ejector "with spring under ejector" out, that flat sear spring should have NO Play, pin should be tight. It should be flat- straight. if loose there is a procedure to tighten. Insert sear, ejector spring and hammer, cock hammer and apply pressure forward with thumb, it should hold.Reassemble frame assembly, slide still off, backstrap in place, gun should function, cock hammer and put pressure on hammer. It should not fall. To check upper trigger set screw, cock hammer, turn screw out/up until the hammer drops. turn in 1/4 turn. If the problem still exists it could be the hammer notch or worn sear or both.
