Default My First 3rd Gen- Model 4006

For several months now I've seen this at my LGS, sitting behind the glass, begging for attention. It seems all the newer, lighter models were being chosen ahead of it, and it just seemed sad that it was being so overlooked.

I was never a huge fan of the .40 S&W. It made absolutely no sense to dislike it, as it has great ballistics and the pistols chambered for it all seem to be pretty reliable.

A couple years ago I bought a Colt Delta Elite, and early this year I finally started loading 10mm. Well, my dies are for both .40 and 10mm, so I figured, why not?

This was priced at $549, which, according to GB, was a little high. I went in this afternoon and looked at it again, and told the owner if it was five even I just might walk out the door with it. He said, "We can do that!"

I realize that $500 is still a little bit high, but dang it, I talked myself into it, and I wanted it!

This, if all goes well, is going to replace my 39-2 as a carry gun. I won't get to shoot it until Friday.

I used a 4006 as a carry gun for years and have been very pleased with it. Let us know what you think after shooting it!

$500 MAY be a little high, but it's only going to go up in value.
Let's just say you bought it early.

I love my 3rd gen Smiths.
Built like a tank.
They eat anything I feed them.

Beautiful looking sample. I hope to get around to owning a .40 before I'm to old to enjoy it. Still have a long list of 9's & .45's I need to acquire before I move on to the .40's. So many choices!
