CS45 gun show find.
I've been on the lookout for a CS45 for quite some time, but the CS9s and 40s were all that could be found at the local shops or shows. Finally saw one in person yesterday. It's in very nice condition, well cared for, and not a mark on it. The OTD price was below the going rate. The original box and 2 mags came home with me, but the .45 won't be here until Tuesday. I'll post pics asap.
I'm not concerned about any 'excessive' recoil that has been mentioned in numerous posts about the CS45. I have a few short barrel .45s, and one of them is a 325PD Airlite that weighs a couple of ounces less than the CS, and has a shorter barrel. The 325 recoil is not at all harsh or unmanageable, considering its weight and barrel length. I will try out the CS on the next range trip with some white box Winchester rounds.
Love 'em or hate 'em, gun shows (which have morphed into gaudy knives, cheap jewelry, and bulk candy shows) have been pretty good to me lately.

I have carried a CS 45 for over twenty years. It is the most comfortable alloy frame .45 I have found. I have it's cousin, 4513TSW on my night stand. I have my duty 4506 at home in the safe. All are stainless steel, I have a couple of blued guns, but I prefer stainless.

I've been on the same search. I found a "shooter" at a recent gun show and it'll have to do until I find a better example.

Don’t forget the jerky! I was even at a gun show where they had a fancy shower set up and some bored kid was trying to sell them to redneck gun owners! Here’s a pic so you’ll believe me
Great find on the CS45. I’ve been looking for one too. I’ve got two CS40s, one converted to 10mm.

Congrats on the CS45! Great little 45.
Coming to the CS45 from decades of using the larger 3rd gen 45 models in general and the early 4513TSW in particular, I had some issues with it. My issues, not the gun. The gun runs flawlessly.
My first issue was the OEM Hogue grip. It was too thick and just didn't feel "right" in my hand. It also made the gun pull up out of an open top IWB holster that a member here was kind enough to make for me. Several times in stores, the CS45 almost fell out in public when I would lean over to pick up an item. Not good.
My second issue was the little finger rest on the mags. It crowded my large hand on the grip frame. I was still able to shoot the CS45 fast and accurately, but again it didn't feel right. And didn't work for me as well as my 4513TSW.
The last problem I had was that my CS45 doesn't like my favorite carry round, the Winchester Ranger RA45T. Occasionally, while testing the little 45 prior to carrying it, it would either FTF on the last round in the mag or after ejecting the next to last casing the live last round would eject with it.
I solved the problems I was having by taking off the OEM grips and replacing them with TercGen cut down Delrin grips. GREAT improvement! Slimmed the CS45 down and eliminated the upward pull from the IWB holster. Gun felt much better in my hand.
Then I took one of my 4513TSW mag baseplates and mounted it on a CS45 6-round mag. MUCH better. I get my whole hand on the grip and have more control while drawing and firing the gun.
After speaking with a friend whose agency had many CS45s in service, owns his own CS45 and has fired same extensively, I switched over to Federal 230 grain HST for use in the CS45.
My friend explained to me that certain lots of RA45T were "hotter" than others and even with a new recoil spring and new mags, the slide could outrun the follower pushing the next round up. He suggested either moving to Remington Golden Sabers or the HST which many agencies were going to and having great success with.
The CS45 likes the HST. It shoots it as accurately as my other 3rd gen 45s shoot the RA45T. Having to add a different carry ammo to the inventory was a bit of a hassle, but the ability to have the smallest TDA 45 made, with typical 3rd gen reliability and accuracy was worth it. My CS45 and I get along very well now. Over the last few months it has become my daily carry gun.
For use under a T-shirt when it is very hot out, I found a DeSantis Nemesis holster for a G27 to work perfectly for a little thinner IWB carry. I hope you enjoy your CS45 as much as I enjoy mine! Fine little 45! Regards 18DAI

A shower display??...holy smokes. Some promoter has sunk to new low. Yes, jerky vendors are a regular at gun shows too...and i forgot about the kid showing different styles of gutter guards at the show yesterday.
I bought a 4053 months ago to convert to 10mm. But it's so nice i decided to leave it as is.

18DA1, thanks much for the informative input!!..especially on the SD ammo choices
IMHO, Hogues are about the worst grip for a carry gun. Too 'sticky', and too wide. The originals will be removed and replaced with what yours is wearing. Somewhere in the parts drawer there's a spare small frame piece to trim to size.
I have a couple of G26/G27 holsters to try out. Thanks for the holster tip as well.

My pleasure jughed440!! If you have trouble finding a 4513TSW mag baseplate, my friend RedCardinal took a standard CS45 mag and Dremmelled the finger rest to round and smooth.
He was kind enough to sell it to me and it works very well too. I carry it as a reload mag. I look forward to your range report and shooting impressions of this fine little 45 carry gun! Regards 18DAI

My own CS45 was a gun show find back in 2016 and I think I did quite well on the price... ... certainly so relative to what I've had to pay for top condition 3rd Gens lately.
Funny thing about that sweet CS45 find: It was the one time in my long, sorry life that I went to a show without enough cash money in my pocket for even one good score. And to make matters worse, my ATM card wouldn't work in the foreign ATM and was ultimately swallowed by the ATM machine. It took most of that Saturday afternoon to come up with enough cash to do the deal, but it was worth it.

At the West Palm Beach Gun Show, the promoter [Sport Show Speciliasts] allows anyone to set up a table at his shows. People sell corn bread, alarm systems, magic tape, as well as Uber, & a local strip club having tables there. OTOH, Florida Gun Shows only allows firearms, or related products to be sold at their shows. The only exception is Mort, the beef jerky guy. GARY.

18DA1, with my med sized hands, I would prefer the standard baseplate. I have a round baseplate on a 7 round 4516 mag to trade if you would like. I'll PM.

I missed the strippers at the WPB Gun Show. I do like the the guy with the malted balls and the Banana Bread Lady.

If I recall correctly, it was a SSS show. It was up in Ft. Pierce back in April.

SSS, [Bill] only does shows in West Palm Beach, Melbourne, Deland, & Eustis. The West Palm Beach Show is his only big/decent show. The strip club who has a table at the WPB show is Double Dee’s on Southern Blvd. GARY.

You’re right...I had to look it up to see who sponsored it, but it was a Patriot Productions show.

I am confident that you will enjoy the CS45. For such small pistols, they are relatively fun and accurate. Recoil is managed by practice. Now about these CS9's that you saw...

I ground the rim off of the mag bases for my CS45. Added the KSD grips which extend down behind the magazine and give the gun a whole different feel.
I like it mighty fine.
