Need 3914 DAO, 3914 TSW.
I thought I had finished up on the 39 series black guns last month. I was going through SCSW 4th edition checking it against my inventory and to my dismay I somehow missed these 2. So the hunt is back on! It's not so bad...it's the hunt that's half the fun.

Good luck, and I mean that seriously.
The 3914DAO was made for NYPD as an authorized off duty gun. They pop up here and there for sale as officers dispose of them. After NYPD stopped authorizing them for use, some showed up at a gun shop in the NYC area.
The 3914TSW is a real mystery, at least to me. I saw a few for sale on Armslist, but they were going for $1,200.00. I can only guess that a small number were made from left over components originally kept in stock for the DAO version.
The SCSW shows them as produced from 1999 - 2006, but I'm skeptical of that. I think that is their best guess.
If you find either of those, you'll be doing well. If you find both, you'll be the King of 3rd Gen collectors!

3914DAO
Yes, this one will be a much easier Unicorn to find than the 3914TSW. I was able to purchase a NIB 2015 production NYPD 3914 DAO last year. I believe it was one of the last runs of that model. I have yet to fire it, so I can't say much about the trigger compared to the 3953. There's probably a few more of these out there NIB, just keep your eyes open. Your persistence will pay off.

The 3914tsw is a mystery, as a previous owner of the this model, I found it to be a great safe gun but not so much shooter. I am not a fan of third gen 9mms as I have found that Sig and the Browning Hi Power to be a lot better options. However, 3rd gen 10mms and 40s are the bees knees

I'd be interested in a trigger comparison between the two. It's more academic interest than anything as no variation of the 3914 is on "the roster" in my benighted state.
The 3914TSW would be of interest due the it's rarity. I'd also like to see if later production techniques and parts were used as with the 3913TSW.

My dealer bought the one 3914DAO his distributor offered him. He offered it to me saying he’d keep it if I declined; which I didn’t. On the other hand, I’ve never seen a 3914TSW.

Well thanks to a forum member here, I have located and am in the process of purchasing a 3914 DAO.
That was a lot of luck on my part for sure. Thank you XYZ! ( I’ll let you identify yourself if you so choose)
The other good news is I found out I have duplicate 3954s and 457s. I’ll have to find them to confirm condition but my inventory sheet indicates ANIB. If they are truly duplicates I can use then for trade or sale.
I know the 3914TSW is not going to be easy to find. But that’s what the hunt is all about!

At the Humble, TX gunshow today, I saw my first 3914DAO. Talk about nice! Box, etc. He had $900 on the tag, marked down to $750. I looked long and hard at it. Six weeks from now, I'd have taken it. Today, I had to walk away and wasn't happy.

I find that it builds character. And the pain usually starts to fade after about 2-3 weeks.
Even earlier if you spot another great deal!

I'm probably wrong, but I've read that only large orders from an agency would be taken. NYPD did so a few years ago and S&W ran some off. I wonder if the machinery still exists. More's the pity.
