Default Just a heads up

Last week I ordered 1006 magazine parts from Numrich. I bought a couple S&W Magazine Floorplate Catch Assemblys along with other parts but they were not made correctly. The tab that holds the buttplate in place is on the top of the catch not the bottom. I'm sure they will correct this but if they have a batch of these that was all made at the same time
it may be awhile.
See first picture below. The one on the right is from one of my magazines and how it should look.

I have found that typical from them in the past 5 years - none of the professional gunsmiths + serious collectors I know will only deal with them if no other suppliers have what they need -

Numrich has been 'out of stock/not available' on those for quite a while now. I guess they still are unless you want a bad part. The 45 catch plates are useable but have to narrowed. The 40S&W 4013 catch plates are useable as is,they may be shorter than the 10mm but are fully functional.

Not good. I could grind off the the hump on top no problem but not sure how I would add one on the bottom.

Thumbs up

Great news. Fixed my problem. The little magazine catch is just a pressed in fit. Set them on my bench vice with the jaws open just enough fore me to center punch them out. A couple taps is all it took with a 8oz hammer. Rolled them over, added a little epoxy and tapped them back in from the correct side. Worked great.
Also they were too wide for the magazine tube. This was an easy fix. Took a little off each side in the belt sander, Re blued them and now they look and work like factory.

If they were too wide, they weren't 1006 catches either, they were definitely 4506 catches. Good going Numrich...

But you've found by accident, the alternatives that work fine after being sized, and they're easier to find too.
