This package comes with two spare springs - a 10# and a 14#.
Anyone know what come 'stock' in the pistol as shipped??
I'll guess the 10# with the 14# for hotter loads - trying to verify.

My guesstimate is that the 14 is stock, but that is a semi-educated guess and nothing more.

I have one of those guns so I should know but I can't remember. I would call Smith & Wesson.

14lb is std spring for a 5" 1911 . 10lb would be for reduced mid range target only loads

14 is what I run in my stock 38 5” but when I had a compensated 38 I used a 10 or 12.

The 14 works for standard factory loads but for major power factor IPSC loads in my stock pistol I run a 20 with a shock buffer. The same major loads in my race gun ran with a 10 or 12 and buffer.

I will look for the info that i received when asking about the two springs in the PPC 9's and 945. As I recall the heavy spring was for break in light spring after broken in.
