Mec-Gar "flush fit" 17-round mags for 5900/915//910?
Sorry if this has been asked before:
Anyone have thoughts on Mec-Gar's high capacity mags for 3rd Gen wonder nines?
Reliability? Feeding issues?

You can bet Mec-Gar products will work well. They may very well have made some of the OEM S & W magazines.

I'm with Murphydog... MecGar is top of the line, and often much better than OEM mags. Buy with confidence.

They are ok but I don't like the large baseplate on them. I personally use the 15 and 20 round mec-gar magazines for S&W 59 series.

I have a few of them. Work great. Different follower and spring design than the 15 round though. Not that it matters. MecGar is/was the OEM for many major manufacturers. My KelTec P-11 mags even wear the MecGar logo.
Of the various manufacturers that do and did make 59xx mags, I'd only use original S&W or MecGars. No reason not to use the 17 rd flush MecGars if you are buying MecGars.
I also have the MecGar 17 rd flush fits for my Ruger KP-95DC.

I have four Mec-Gar 15-round nickel S&W 5900 magazines, purchased within the last few months, and they all work perfectly in my 5906. Got them from Galati International ( galatiinternational.com) for $21.95 each. Have used Mec-Gar magazines in many of my Berettas for years with zero issues.

Nickel is the way to go with these Mec Gar mags since they don't offer them in their anti-friction coating like they do with SIG, Beretta and CZ mags.

Just bumping this.
Do these mags work with the 459 series?

They work just fine with a 459. They don’t look exactly right as the 1st and 2nd Gens all used a flat metal base plate and the Mec-Gar magazines closely follow the design of the 3rd Gen magazines, and they have a much larger plastic base plate.

Agree With Murphy Dog
The admonition against aftermarket magazines does not apply to Mec-Gar. Their magazines are often better than the originals.

A Clarification
After my last post regarding Mec-Gar magazines, I realized that the same thing applies to Chip McCormack Model 1911 magazines. They are as good as magazines get.

Their magazines usually ARE the originals. I've bought Mecgar for almost every gun I've owned and I've never had an issue.

Yep, Mec Gar are all that I use for my 59xx pistols, and they are nothing but reliable. Too bad they don't come in stainless steel, but I have found that both the blued and nickel finishes hold up very well.

The only question I have for MecGar is, why don't they make a magazine for the 4506?

They are very great magazines and they work flawlessly.
But, they do NOT work, (the 17 rnd ones,) in very early 59’s. At least not mine. That’s not a problem cause they work in everything else and very well. They also do not accept the +2 adaptors, (of course ,) in all their offerings if that’s an issue.

My thoughts exactly! I'd also love to see some high-cap mags for the 4006 guns, maybe even some 1006 mags...

They make mags for older less common guns, so the mind boggles.

Been using Mec-Gar for decades in S&W (17 rd) and Beretta (17,18,20 and 30rd) firearms
Edit: Forgot about
Browning HP............. 15 rd mags.
Beretta Compact........ 15 rd mags.
Been using "Greg Cote,LLC for mags for years ...... generally very good pricing.

I'm very happy with the two I bought for my Taurus PT92. They are noticeably better than the mags that came with the gun.

I have std 15-rounders for the 59 series, but I do have flush-fit 15s for my Hi-Powers, and they work better than the original 13s I got with the guns.

Mec-Gars work very well. I have used them in my 6906, 5906, 92FS, CZ75B and Hi-Power. All have worked flawlessly.

Another A+++ for Mec-Gar. They have to be good or Sig Sauer, CZ and Beretta would not use them.

I have run Mec-Gars in my Berettas, CZs and Sigs for years. Always worked will. They 59 series mags are no exception. I do wish they would make 6906 mags though. Maybe in a 14rd capacity.
