Looking for knowledge regarding grip panel fitment.
Are the grip panels interchangeable between 639 and 659.. Is the fitment the same, and interchangeable..?? Are they the same panels..?? Thanx for your knowledge and help.. Best, George K.

To expand on the answer... no and not even close.
As the 639 is a single stack pistol with a relatively slim frame and arched backstrap, original stocks are made of wood. The 639 stocks interchange with the 439, 539, 39 and 39-2 and also the Model 52.
The 659 is a wide frame double stack with a straight backstrap. Original grip panels are a thin plastic panel that interchanges with the 59, 459 and 559.

Here’s a picture of the two. They’re pretty scratched up but I save everything it seems.
39, (etc) on the left, 59, (etc) on the right.

You'll find that the plastic grip panel for the double stack 1st & 2nd Gen 9mm guns looks much like the original plastic grip panel for the 645, but they are not interchangeable.
