39 steel frames
We all know that the steel frames were made back in 1953-1954 and went into storage. They were un-numbered and not assembled. Back in 1963-1964 the frames were numbered and assembled and released in three ranges and released as Mod-39s. Just for convenience sake lets say 35K, 62-64K, and thirdly 80K. Of the three ranges, I wonder, were the released guns all equal, say 300 per group, or was their one group that had fewer? My data base on shipped steels is a bit sparse. Mike

Sorry I don't have the answer or own a steel frame 39 Mr Mike
(I do have a 639 and 539).
But you have me wondering what year the left side slide serrations were relocated fwd,
and if the early batch has the older style then wondering if the higher serial batch of steel frame 39's have the new style serrations making them different ?

Hello Mr. Brad, I assume that there are only two serration patterns?
Pre 39, short lever and 39, long lever? Since my sub-terrain vault is all locked up. let me get back to you. How are your tomatoes doing on the back patio? Good to hear from you. I dont expect to hear from ole Seductive 39 up in WPB. I hope he is doing well. He may chime in.
As all ways, old and grumpy, Mike

Hello Mr. Brad, Im looking at a steel frame in the 35K
range that has the serrations rearward like the pre-39.
Now the steel 39 in the 62K, has serrations well forward like a later 39 or 39-2. That is my observation so far. Mike
