669 grip

Does anyone know for a grip from rubber or wood that would fit model 669 with only light modifications?
I prefer Hogue if possible.

The 469 and 669 are pretty limited as far as grip options go. The Hogue Handall may be a good, generic, inexpensive one to try out. Pic was found online. Their website also shows a Beavertail model that isn't 2nd Gen specific but one of them could probably be trimmed to fit if/as needed.

I’ve written about this before, it may be worthwhile to add to your book of tricks:

For a irrationally low cost option that MIGHT work, consider bicycle tire inner tube.

Pro:

—cost is so low, almost zilch
—very easy to source
—install not too difficult, does not require pistol disassmbly
—does not make the pistol appreciably fatter
—adds extremely grippy surface
—does not add obtrusive finger grooves like the Hogue or Pachmayr sleeve

Cons:
—looks pretty awful
—does not add cushion for recoil

When you consider how easy and low cost it is to try, I think this is an option that should be looked at more often, especially for pistols that have notoriously low after-market support AND have been out of production for years.

I forgot Pachmayr also once made them, and NOS and used ones can be found online. Uncle Mikes made ones that some prefer as they are thinner than the Pachmayr. Again, pics found online

Search the Forum for members who have modified a factory 3rd Gen one piece Derlin grip to fit these 2nd Gens. With a little patience and elbow grease you may create something that works for you.

I'm blind didn't read Hogue grip not for 669/469

I have a set of NOS Pachmayr grips, SW 69 in the for sale section that are for the 469/669.

Had a set of Pachmayr's on a now gone 669. They were a bit bulky compared to the OEMs. They were an improvement on general "grippiness", just bigger in every dimension especially with that front strap.
They also made my shirts cling to them a bit more than the OEMs so that might be a factor if you carry concealed.

I replaced the OEMs because one panel broke.

I've had a set of the Uncle Mike's grips on my 669 since they became available. They are much more "grippy" than the factory grip slabs without adding girth to the overall grip. Well worth the time to search them out.

I sprayed the grips with FullDip spray. So far it looks good for such a simple solution. We will see how long it lasts.
