S&W Model 4006 Stamping
Hi:
I have a Model 4006 .40 Serial #TF1112 that on the right side of the frame, slide and barrel is stamped " CENTRAL #1"
The attached photo shows the stamping. The stamping appear to be profession- Factory ??
Anyone have any idea what this stamp is ?
Thank you,
Jimmy

What you got there is a 4006 that was issued to the California highway patrol from 1990 to 2006 and that is 1 of 9736. During that time each of the 8 divisions had what is call " fots trucks" where officers would go and shoot a laser gun at a screen. So, you have a fots gun that was issued to central division

FYI, I just purchase several 4006 TSW CHP’s. They all have CHP Engraved on the left side.

CHP is in the serial number on the left side and the right side has three control numbers on the slide, barrel , frame that start with " E" then serial number.
