Sent two to the mothership today
Have a 1076 that never had the recall work done, also has the scratchy single action trigger that is caused by a bad trigger play spring?
Just acquired a 4013 that has the same scratchy trigger and the trigger pin seemed too easy to move (could move it with my finger).
Called S&W, lady asked the serial numbers then sent me 2 shipping labels to send them in.
We will see if they fix me up and how long it takes,

Muthership
I am sure they will fix the recall on the 1076 no problem and ship it back at their expense. But be advised I had a similar phone call about a revolver and sent it in. They came back with a way high price tag for the work. So I asked them to send it back. They told me I was responsible for the two way shipping and $100 for them to look at it. I pitched a fit and sent them copies of the emails where they stated they would fix the problem with at least perception they would do it for free. They finally sent it back and I just had to pay return shipping. How nice!

I hope they don't burn me like that. I sent in another 1076 several years back and they fixed it without charge with the same trigger issue. Fingers crossed. I have also sent in a few other handguns and a TC barrels in and never been charged.

Curious though. Was your revolver after the 1989 warranty cutoff or older than that? And what did you want to have done?
Thanks,

It was newer than 1989. It is stainless. It has very light rust freckles all over it. I was living with it when I heard how good S&W customer service was here on the board. I called and emailed them. I asked if this kind of thing was under warranty and was told to send it in we will take care of it. Then got the previously mentioned treatment. If I sent something to them again I would get in email the responses to the following questions: is this covered under warranty yes or no? Who pays shipping each way? How much does that cost? Is there a fee for looking at the gun or ratio repair cost? Just me though. Other people have gotten great service I hear.

I think it depends on who works on it. I had one that sent me parts, then another said I had to send in whole gun. Others have gotten parts mailed free since that for the same part.

It ain't like it used to be. They reblued an old pre-model 10 for me and when it came back there was no invoice enclosed.

Well, just got the 4013 back today. They fixed it, no questions asked. And it has a badge number stamped on the slide. Says they replaced the sear release lever and repaired the trigger (trigger pin was loose).
They received it on 1/31/2020 and sent it back to me on 2/14/2020, not a bad turn around. Haven't seen a shipping notice on the 1076, we will see how long it takes.

Got the 1076 back today. Trigger is fixed and they took care of the recall, although they did not mark the frame under the decocker to indicate it had been done. I had to call to verify.
Rosewood is still happy with S&W customer service!!

This thread convinced me to send my 5926 back to S&W. I've had it for a couple of months now without knowing if the recall work was ever done (no marks on the frame or anything) and unsure if S&W even still did the work so it's good to see they still do.

There is one of those in the display case at the shop where I bought my 4013. I didn't even know they existed. They want $499 for it, bit more than I want to pay. If it was the 4026, I would have tried to talk them down. My first "sig" and wesson was the 1076 and I love the decocker design.
