Model 39-2 with MMC sights?
Cleaning up a Model 39-2 for a family member, did some research here on the forum. Looks like a late '79 nickel Model 39-2 with blue controls, Pachmayr grips, serial number A525XXX. Two original mags. I could have sworn I saw this box for this in the safe a few years ago, but he couldn't produce it for me today.
My question is, were the MMC sights added aftermarket? Or were they an option? This one also has red ramp front sight.
Thanks in advance. After I get her cleaned and flitz'd up, I'll post pics for the inevitable value question.

MMC sights were quality pieces, but not OEM.

Pictured is the container that my MMC sight came in. The sight is on my model 59. The small flat item on the foam is the sight adjusting tool that came with the sight. The original sight is in the photo along with the spring and plunger that I removed from the pistol to disable the magazine disconnect. Given more time, I could probably locate my original receipt for the sight. As must be obvious, I am a pack rat when it comes to firearms and all the associated goodies that go with them.
P.S. I am looking forward to seeing the OPs photos when posted.

Very neat! I think my family member got his 39-2 at a pawnshop, no sign of original packaging remains for the MMC sight.
On another note, took grips off last night... As expected, several spots of corrosion under the pachmayrs. I'm a little bummed. Otherwise I think the exterior will clean up nicely. Won't be able to attack it properly until this weekend.

The adjustable MMC sight was also an option on DEVEL converted 39 & 59s. My Devel full-house 59 has one. It’s a really nice item.

I’m mostly a revolver guy so if this is old news, just ignore. In addition to the basic factory stock rear sight and the MMC replacement there was also a factory optional fully adjustable rear sight that fit right into the existing factory sight cuts. I just had one installed on my 39-2 “just because.”

Dang! That's nice except for the ugly rubber grips. I have long lusted for a decent condition nickel plated 39-2 or even a nickel plated 439.

I don't know where locally is, but I think that is an appropriate price.

Hi, MY 39-2 is shooting very low. i have to aim the top of the target's visual to actually shoot the visual' center..
Is the adjustable sight is for windage only but not elevation?
Best,
Denis.

I have the genuine S&W adjustable sight on my 39-2. It was on order a long time. Here it is. Cal is 9x21 with Barstow fitted barrel.
