$375 is a great price especially with OE grip panels . A 469 was my first pistol several years ago maybe $350

Personally, I think $350 might be just a tiny bit high for a Model 469. The stainless Model 669 usually commands $350-$400, so I think $300-$325 would be a better deal.

$375 for one in great condition sounds good to me.

During the last week of December 2019, a nice 469 black sold for $340 with 22 bids and a SS 469 sold for $375 with 1 bid at the big auction.

I just sold a 469 with two magazines, no box, in excellent condition for $400.

Hi all! I joined the forum today looking to find out if there's a market for my S&W Model 469, I got it around 1982, If I'm not mistaken. I've had a few other weapons before & since but could never part with this one. I have the original box and papers, as well as 4 - 12 round mags. It also has a Pachmayr Combat Grip. Can anyone tell me the best way to find it's value? Thanks!

I think watching completed sales on gun auction sites like gun broker. Every region seems to have a culture which affects individual prices on different guns. In Illinois for example the S&W 9 MM semi autos tend to hold their value because they were used by Law Enforcement.

The only other way is to visit local gun shops and pawn shops, checking inventory and asking questions. If there are slow moving products in the gun case you might get a deal but if the retailer knows it will sell he won’t be as apt to deal or lower the price.

If your well known by the shop you might get a call when something you’d be interested in shows up.

Got any photos? That's the best way to get a reasonably accurate value, since it will show the outward condition. And this forum (in the "for sale" section, of course ) is the best place to sell it if you choose to.

I bought this one about 15 years ago. Previous owner had stripped the frame finish and checkered the front strap. Gives it a two tone appearance. He also reshaped the trigger guard to remove the little "hook" on the front. Very accurate and reliable, compact size and 12 rd mag. It is my bedside gun.

He also put a proper hammer on it. I do that to all my S&W compacts. GARY

I like this type of hammer, (the center two)
The left is for a 469, the right is a standard 9mm

In Southeast Louisiana, a 469 would sell for $300-$350.

I made those "back in the day".
Didn't like the full bobbed hammers on the 469's
and the standard ones were too large.
I prefer to shoot single action on the first shot.

Thank you! They were used here in South FL by my local PD, but sparingly. Had a few friends on the force back then that liked it and recommended it to me.

I just gave my grandson a 469 with two 12 round magazines, three 15 round magazines, and one 20 round magazine. He seemed pleased.

Ratpac, that looks pretty darn good. I'd go $375 for a quick sale or to a friend, up to 450 with the idea that you'd bargain down to 400 or 425.

Thank you for your insight GerSan69. I sincerely appreciate the advice. Would you know if this site allows "For Sale" postings?
