Default Model 539 Nickel Value?

Have not seen any recent 539 info and maybe not entering correct words in advanced search function (can't find much). Anyway, I understand the variant with fixed sight is more rare. Any advice appreciated as I am looking at a possible buy. Thanks, Bob

The S&W 539 is a rare pistol especially in nickel. The 539 is a second generation single stack 9 MM with steel frame. The 639 and 539 have steel frame whereas the 439 has an alloy frame.

The value could go up considerably if someone was looking for a good specimen to add to a collection. Having the original box and papers/accessories adds to the value.

A 539 with significant wear might go for $350-$450 depending on locale. A Nickel 539 in nice shape with box might go for $800-$1000 to the right buyer.

Post pictures and more information which will help in determining value.

Model 539 pistols are few and far between, those with factory nickel finishes are even fewer. No box, no papers, that would be a shooter grade pistol, I'd say given the scarcity, $500 neighborhood. With box and papers, but used; $800 neighborhood. NIB, unfired except by the factory, $1000.
