5926 sent back
I picked up this 5926 almost two months ago and though it seems fine I haven't actually taken it out to the range to see how it performs and I don't know if it actually functions well or if it ever had the recall work done. Sent off an email to S&W and they gave me a shipping label and claimed they would still fix it, and after seeing other members here recently get their 3rd gen decocker pistols sent off to S&W for the recall I sent mine back today. Here's hoping it goes off without a hitch.

Hahahaha well my friend...
If you are gonna show a picture of a 5926 (or 4026, 1026, 4526, 4576 or 1076) ...then the picture should show the left side!

The thought did occur to me right after I posted . Updated with the decocker side.

Things have gotten significantly crazier in the month since I posted this, but I just got a tracking number from S&W and it should be on its way back.

Got the 5926 back today, paid nothing the entire process. Didn't see any stamps under the decocking lever but it did have a completed repair order form. Unfortunately it looks like I won't be getting to go out to finally test it on the range for a while, but it's good to have it back.

If I had to guess it was some they only did back when 3rd Gens were still even being produced in the first place. I'm mostly impressed they did it at all instead of just offering me a voucher for half off an M&P or something.

I agree, impressed as well and this is the most recent example of the whole “oh 3rd Gens have no factory support” internet fallacy.
If S&W has the parts, S&W will fix your 3rd Gen. Don’t crack your frame or burst your barrel, good chance they can help.

I have a 6926 without the dots. My 1076 does have the dot. May call and see if it has had the fix.

Never knew there was a 6926. I think I would like one of those. I do think a 4013 TSW with decocker would really tickle my fancy, but they never made such did they?

My 1076 that I have had for years has the dots. Not sure if they were there when I bought it or if S&W did it when I sent it in for the trigger repair 12+ years ago. But the one I just sent in, they did not dot it.

I would have liked it if they had made a frame mounted decocker version of the 3913, a 3933.
