Default Model 410

My dad left me a s&w model 410 and I’m having a hard time trying to figure out age and gen. SN vlm4381. Can anyone help shed some light?

Does your 410 have a box with it? If it does you can look at the Spec Order number to get the date. There are four numbers, the first is the last number of the year, the next three are the day, (out of 365 that year.) Like lets just say itís 2123. It would be the 123rd day of 2002.

If you donít have the box/label, call S&W Customer Service, (1-800-331-0852,) with the serial number ready. Chances are on the first call youíll be told they donít have any information on anything ďthat old.Ē Remember the name of that person and call back, hopefully it wonít be the same Rep, if it is hang up. Regardless keep trying cause they DO have that info and they CAN get it for you.
