Default looking for holster mod4526

Ok, so i bought Friday I came across a model 4526 in very good condition for very good price couldn't pass it up I've carried compacts of various brands. I'm looking to EDC the 4526 but I cannot find a IWB holster that fits
I would prefer kydex but am ok with other materials I do not need retention up but prefer level one until now i have used alien gear holsters and have loved them however they do not make a shell for this model

I'm new to S&W 3rd gens any help would be great

Make sure it was serviced under recall - http://smith-wessonforum.com/140567632-post14.html

A full size frame decock model with the squared trigger guard - that will be a difficult holster to find for sure.

You may have better luck searching for 645 or early 4506 holsters - but not much better.

Nice 4526! Rare bird. Congrats!

I use a Galco horsehide IWB with my 4506-1. I have an additional problem finding holsters, as I am left handed.

I have had some success finding them on Ebay. Also, Alphonsos in Hollywood CA makes leather for 4506 pistols. Aker had a few different holsters too, but you have to find them on the secondary market. Don't forget to get a good gunbelt.

Looking forward to your range report! Regards 18DAI

Try Don Hume 721 which you could just manipulate the leather at the bottom of the holster to accommodate a longer pistola.
Mine is for a 4516-1 open top no strap. Very comfortable. fits very close to the body. I never had owb before but loves this holster.
My only other previous holster was iwb Alien Gear.

Ditto on that.

The 5" 4526 should fit any holster that would fit other 5" S&Ws, like the 645 or 4506, or for that matter a 5" 1026 (10mm).

The fact the 4526 is a frame-mounted decocker model shouldn't matter as to over-all fit. I would basically just search for holsters listed for the more common 4506 model, which LAPD and other police agencies once issued.

Also, some 'cross-over' holsters might work ... I found, for example, that a couple of leather holsters that were listed for Sig's older .45acp P220s (4.25" model w/o the rail on the frame) actually fit my 4.25" S&W 4566 like a glove.
