Default Bought A 4006TSW... Questions

I grabbed this CHP pistol from CDNN. Everything checks out except I want to improve the finish. Rifling looks sharp and possibly untouched. It just has holster wear...

So, my questions:
1) Are the black parts/pieces carbon or stainless steel?
2) How does S&W accomplish this matte finish? Do they use a particular blast media?

Thanks for helping! 😊

2) Glass Bead Media Testing on 5906 Frame

Mix glass beads and aluminum oxide to replicate finish, or buy them premixed - #4 Econo blend from Mcmaster-Carr

Awesome, thanks! I looked at Mcmaster-Carr's site and found the premixed blends... Which one is #4?

Any idea if the decocker, slide release, hammer (ie the black parts) are carbon or stainless steel?

The last few needed details...

I mixed my own for the testing, but I believe BMCM used 3398K41. 3398K42 looks like it would be closer to what I ended up with my testing and is probably what I would go with, but either media should give you excellent results.

The hammer, trigger, sear, decocker lever are MIM. The decocker body, slide stop, rear sight are cast with a melonite finish
