Trick question right? You've been here 15 years and you handle is PPC9.

My "DPA" 5906 is an all stainless steel DA/SA 4" gun, w/ bushing and is decocker only; made for IDPA..... Serial #DPA00xx is one of 450 made in 1997.

So not sure about a long slide gun with a "DPA" Serial #

That said those long side guns ...... WAG go for $2000-4000.

I can’t help with value, I cannot even (accurately) agree or argue with BAM-BAM, but I can tell you about production.

It is LONG out of production. And the Performance Center does not exist. S&W stamps the classy PC logo on regular and low-budget mass produced average tupperware poppers.

Not only is that pistol not made anymore, there may not be a single person associated with the original production team that made them when they were new employed at S&W anymore. And it is a very solid bet that nearly anyone you could get on the phone has no idea whatsoever about that pistol.

With the serial number, they can punch up the computer and see that it exists. Beyond that, it is most accurate to say that the entity that built the phenomenal DPA-5906 you have just does not exist anymore. Gone in to the annals of history.

Man, that is one beautiful 3rd Gen gun. Has it ever been shot? It looks as if it hasn't. You should send it to me to inspect until the year 2060.

I have an excerpt from a Jinks' letter that stated DPA0479-DPA0498 for the 5". If this is the only run, would make it a total of 20 made. I would expect the value to be at least $5,000. I would definately expect to get much more for my NIB one.

MIM hammer and trigger and a Novak rear puts that one just a tick below the target guns but obviously before scarcity is considered.

Then there is the older brother with the 4" barrel. Per Jinks' letter production was 420 serial numbered DPA0000 - DPA0419. Not rare like the 5" but very popular. I am happy to have both.

Nope. They made a few 5903 5" guns. Great gun but very rare.
