I think 1993. So between Injunbro and me, looks like early 1990's....

Not to split hairs or argue terminology but rather to share the knowledge... I would definitely not call any three alpha serial prefix a “date code.” We sometimes refer to the Spec Order information on a box label as a date code but the truth is that some of the three-alpha serial number prefixes are completely nuts when it comes to really pinning down a shipment or production date.

They were only somewhat, occasionally and randomly in any kind of a predictable or arguably linear order.
