Price of 39-2 mags.
Just saw the auction results of two mags in a pouch for $120!
These were 1972 or later short base S&W mags with black plastic followers. Is this what they are going for? Appropriate for 39-2s
after A200000 Sn. Just curious. Mike

Sounds outrageous to me, but on Flea Bay I've seen the same bidder war fever hit. I needed a spare 39-2 original mag to complete the "package" I got last May 2019. The package had everything, box, docs, tools but only 1 magazine.
I needed the thin lip black plastic follower, and my 39-2 is a A434XXX s/n so I did really want original.
Anyway....hit the Flea Bay found several, but not all original, extra fat rubber toe plates, 9 rounders, older style with metal X follower, orange followers, stainless steel.....but only 1 original, did NOT have a buy-it-now price so entered auction at $39.95, good seller, no negatives, price played around that $40-44 mark right up to less than 2 minutes...and off we go to the races. I was using a different form of bidding so any bid by anyone would be trumped by $1 instantly...it worked so I won the mag for $53.00.....luckily for me cause I was all done at $55 (my max). The mag when arrived showed no sign of ever being inserted into a guns magwell...so yea...I'm happy, but $120 is no way for me...maybe if were 2 for $120 and they were perfect, but I still probably would not be a player.

additional info
Mike;
I just looked again at your post and it was 2 mags for $120, so yea I take it back.....not outrageous.....a little more than my flea bay grab at $53.00 (included shipping and handling) so I guess that is approx. the "going rate" for an original S&W mag these days.
I need at least two (2) single stack mags for each range session, otherwise I'm loading instead of shooting. so I probably would buy more 39-2 mags if I can find them "affordable".

Expect to pay $40 to $50 these days for factory mags. The only other options are the occasional Triple K magazine and ProMags are a dime a dozen. I would not rely on either of those for any serious use.

Hello stan, thanks for reminding me about the unreliability of after market mags. I all ways used and sold OEM mags. They never came back on me.

Wow, I found a couple at a pawn shop in a clearance bin a few months back and paid $8 a piece for them. I have since re-blued and upgraded to red followers and springs and they now hold 9 rounds. Guess I should have left them factory..
I use them as range mags for my 3913.
