What's it worth- 3566 Magazine?
What is a 3566 9mm Performance Center magazine worth today? I am not into the .356 caliber, so don't know much about the mags. Full disclosure- I am asking so I can sell the mag. Don't want to undersell, and don't want to price gouge either. Thanks for any information.

Opinions will vary by a wide bit. It is most definitely without argument a collectible — two ways because of the odd caliber markings and because of the fantastic PC logo. My best learned opinion would suggest $50-$60 is fair since it is out of package.
Information that is relevant: this is a specially marked 5906 magazine. All 5906 mags run perfectly in the 3566 Limited and all (full size) 356 TS&W marked magazines such as this run perfectly in all the 5906’s and variants.
In other words, it’s an extremely cool collectible, but it isn’t a “missing link” that would make a specific gun work, as 5906 magazines were made by the trillions.
I’d swap you something for it if I had something you could use. If interested, send me a PM.

I'd plunk down $75 for a mag like this if I had the 356TSW that runs it. These are only getting rarer, and as Sevens points out, it has the markings that make it highly desirable to those who appreciate this caliber and the PC quality it represents. Sure, the 5906 mags will run in these guns with no problem, and that's certainly a plus for shooters, but the allure of the "real thing" should carry a premium here.

I collect S&W magazines. Long ago I sold an extra for $75. A few years back I picked up 5, sold 2 at $115 each. Collectability causes a premium price because the 356TSW gun owners need magazines to include in displaying their guns.
Probably the rarest of the S&W mags, comparable to the 11rd 10mm & 15rd 10mm mags.

I have had a few of these NOS. I bought mine for about $45 or $50 and sold them for about $75. They are pretty rare but I have seen them for sale and they were an item you could buy at one time. The extended magazine base is a big plus in my opinion. BUT I don’t think they are in the same league as FBI issue 11 and 15 round magazines. Those are ultra rare, ultra collectible and were not sold to the public. I was an FBI agent who carried a 1076 and I never saw or heard of these until I got into collecting15 years later.

I agree, I wasn't trying to imply that they're in the rare category of the 10s', just that they are rare. Any PC marked mag commands a higher price. 4040PD mags were scarce, now it seems they've been becoming available. 39 series single stackers seem to be in demand lately.
Back in February when gunshows were still occurring, the big magazine/clip vendor at the Berea Ohio show was hurting for 59 series 14/15 rounders in S&W or aftermarket. People were buying because of the upcoming pandemic. 10 rounders for the 69 series have become difficult to find.

The $60-$75 arena is about right for used 12 or 15 rounds ones in good or better condition
I have sold of the 12 round magazines that were NIW for $125
The exception being the 20 round Performance Center magazine
