Default New 5906 and 5946

I went to a nearby LGS today. They had at least 4 new 5906s and 4 5946s on display. I haven't seen new 3rd Generations in quit some time. They must have found a source of old stock somewhere. These were the non-TSW models. They were priced at $799.99. Seemed high, but maybe not by today's prices. If anyone is interested, PM me and I will let you know where they are at.

Very cool! I like my 4006 but would really like to have the same format in 9mm.

Stories vary, but it's possible that those were left overs guns from LE contracts. It seems that some were held in reserve for warranty replacements and once the LE agencies traded or otherwise disposed of their guns, the replacements were no longer needed.

The price is a bit on the high side, but if they are never issued, never sold guns, it's not horrible at all.

My LGS has a nice Model 39-2 for $1,500 and a few other "bargains". They have been there all summer. Right now, I would only buy centerfire rifles with detached magazines.

Firearms prices are insanely high right now and I don't see that changing for quite a while.

I'd gladly add a NIB 5906 to my new 3rd Generation addiction.

A new 5906 would be nice, but I'm happy with the used one I got on Gunbroker for $280 just before the prices went up.

I'm with you. Found a police trade in a Chesterland Oh gun shop for $270. According to S&W it was sold to the Hawaii police Dept., Hilo division. A real Hawaii 50 gun.
