Default Range report CS 45 and 457

I picked up a CS45 during this pandemic and had forum member TercGen make a set of grips to replace the sticky hogues that come stock with them. Today I had a chance to finally fire it I took my 457 along to use a comparator.

I think this will be my new CCW. I see this every bit as nice as anything I have shot in 45 compact or sub compact. I would say both the trigger and accuracy were identical to the 457. Both put all rounds in a 4" circle at 7 yards which is what reasonable Self defense range.

I really like the 457 but I think I will use the CS45 minus 1 round because it is a smaller package. The 457 also has the plastic sights. I could conceivably pocket carry the CS45 in certain pants and shirt combo.

Center target was my new 640 Pro 357Mag. The big holes are the 45s.

457 top Right CS9 original grips.

Congrats my friend! The TercGen grips really improve the CS45. Thanks TercGen!

I carry my CS45 more than my other guns. I followed Fasbolts recommendation and use a 230 grain Gold Dot, HST or Golden Saber in my CS45.

Unlike my other 3rd gen carry guns, my CS45 doesn't like RA45T. Too hot for the little 45 to function reliably with. Runs great with the other rounds. Enjoy yours! Regards 18DAI

I just picked up a CS45 this past week. Very accurate little gun. I have big hands and actually like the original grips. I noticed that compared to my Shield EZ 9 that the two are within an 1/8” of each other in length and height (bottom of mag to top of slide), and the Shield is actually wider at the ambi safety than the CS45 at the grips.

mbliss57 I just noticed the rounded 4513TSW baseplates. I have them on my CS45 carry mags too. Makes the little 45 fit my hand better. Especially with the TercGen grips installed.

I recently found a solution the works just a little better, for me. I bought some CS45 mags from RedCardinal a few years back. He rounded the finger rest baseplates. Very professionally done too. It adds a couple of millimeters to the basepad. And enables me a full 3 finger grip.

A real improvement over even the rounded 4513TSW baseplate. Maybe member TercGen can expand his excellent work to baseplates too. Regards 18DAI

I have both , a CS45 and a couple of 457's . For some reason mine like 180r . I have some from Georgia Arms , 180GR JHP in Starline brass . My Recon45 likes these too , don't know why . But if that's what they like , that's what I'll feed them .
