Default Model 439 Magazine

Is there anyone who knows where I can find a magazine (preferably two) for a Smith and Wesson Model 439?

Also, does any Model 39 series magazine fit a Model 439?

The 39/39-2 magazine is effectively the same magazine. The 39 series was made from 1955 to roughly 1982 and zillions of magazines are out there.

The 3904/3906 replaced the 439/539/639 in roughly 1988. With the advent of this series, the magazine was changed slightly. These newer (current?) magazines will also work perfectly in any and every Model 439, although the larger plastic floor plate looks a little odd and not “right” on the 439. The original 3906 magazine held 8 rounds, just like the 39/439 magazine did, but was upgraded shortly thereafter to hold 9 rounds.

If you search for a 3906/952 magazine, you should easily be able to find new old stock 9-round OEM magazines that work perfectly well in your 439.

I must second the advice of Sevens. I have accumulated a number of magazines for my 439, and I have had no issues. I strongly recommend that you avoid any magazines manufactured by either Triple K or Pro Mag.

Thanks. Unless I miscounted... I think I have 8 pistols that use the 3906 magazine.
