Here is a rare bird. A PC3953. A 4" fitted bar-sto barrel. Short DAO.
It a very nice single stack and one of my favorite guns.

it was called the "Classic Series". I think it was intended to part of a series of guns but for whatever reason, I don't think it happened.

Reset is like a standard 3953. It's like all of the short DAO guns of the period.
The trigger pull itself is very smooth and a bit lighter than would probably be seen on a production gun. I find it intuitive and easy to shoot. Shorter, smoother and lighter than most DA triggers you will encounter.

That looks like a very sweet pistol. Of course I’ve never heard of much less ever seen one.
Does it have a Briley bushing? Just curious.
Some think that the “Classic Series “ was an afterthought with S&W just trying to use up parts. I disagree because some of these came out of the PC Shop. The REAL PC Shop. Maybe they were just using up parts but the S&W PC was fitting/assembling them.
I have a Performance Center Special, (not marked in any way,) pistol that I had lettered and the product code IS a PC example. It left S&W in 1998. Most disagree that it is what it is. “Just made up of left over parts.”
Maybe so but it came out of the PC Shop when they were turning out some of the BEST S&W pistols ever. (Maybe the best pistols ever by any manufacturer.  )

PC guns from the 90s are hard to beat.......... truly hand built custom guns!
Not a DOA guy but that's a rare one.....I'd never heard of before.

Very nice variation on the standard 3953, my daily carry pistol. I had a local smith work the trigger decades ago and it's my favorite carry. (in fairness, when I'm forced to go to Baltimore, my Glock 19's mag capacity wins out)
