Default Barrel will not go fully back on new Victory

Just bought a new Victory. For the first few trys the barrel would slide back nicely and charge the gun. Now the barrel goes back maybe 1/2" and no further, then will slides closes when you let go.
Haven't disassembled it yet as it is a brand new gun.

Any thoughts?
Thanks, Jay

Assuming you are asking about a SW22 Victory, the barrel is removable, but should be fixed to the frame during normal operation. Iím guessing you are asking about the movement of the bolt rearward. If the bolt will only move rearward 0.5 inch there is something wrong. When locked in the open bolt condition it should move back about 1.25 inch. Disassemble the pistol and check that there is no debris in the works or that the recoil spring has not come out of position.
