Very nice sir, I looked forever to find a black commander sized one to go with my full sized black one, but happened across my NIB bead blasted 945 no dash, they feel so nice .

Shes part of my retirement old man carry collection

Geeze, and I thought I was in it with just one LEW 1st run 945.

Amazing and outstanding representation of 945’s.

Thanks for the post.

I think you are messing with me.

The picture of BAM0206 has a fired cartridge bag labeled BAM0260.

The picture of BAM0260? has a fired cartridge bag labeled BAM0206.

BAM0260? looks like a new model to add to the list - 170227b.

Now that is quite the collection, accumulated by a determined (and addicted) collector. Thanks so much for sharing. A bunch of beautiful guns AND it makes me feel better about my own "determined"/addicted collecting habits.

Very nice. How many of those do you shoot and carry?

The last Commander-sized stainless 945 I saw was in the hands of a guy who worked at S&W, and it looked like it had been through a war or two. It was his daily carry weapon (and he was formerly a 1911 carrier as a cop). Had a sweet trigger and action.

I've often thought that if I were to find an affordable 945, I'd want it to be either a 3.75" or 3.25", so I could carry it as a retirement weapon (to supplement my original 4513TSW & CS45).

Thanks for posting the pics.

4T5guy summed it up for me, a first run LEW that I absolutely love. Would like to find a 3.75. You have a fantastic collection sir.

What else can one say to a collection like that but WOW!

I only have just the one, an RSA prefix 945-1.

“Very nice. How many of those do you shoot and carry?“

I’ve only fired the stainless 5” so that I could compare it to the 952 and 845. I don’t carry regularly any more for the simple reason that I’m getting old and not in great physical shape, so I don’t go out a whole lot.

I think if S&W had introduced the 945 style pistol earlier, say in the mid 1980’s it would have been more popular. S&W should have pushed it as an evolved 1911! I believe if aggressively marketed as the 686 was against the GP-100, labeling the Colt 80 series as a cobbled poorly made relic versus the thoroughly updated and refined single action .45 ACP that will feed any type of ammunition with aplomb that is designed today and for the future!
The 745, was never going to get 1911 purists to transition, but the 945 could have.
But no. Hardly any marketing and fades into obscurity.
