HELP...Date of MFG on a 4006
The serial # is B0448
I have tried to check but nothing makes any sense. Any help is appreciated.

That is not the serial number
The serial number will be three alpha characters followed by four numbers . . . . . for example ABC1234
It should be located on the left side of your frame, just above the model number

If you have the box, the SPEC ORD number on the end label is a Julian date.

That's probably an asset/property number like was put on the CHP pistols.

Cant say for sure, but I have 2 Model 6906 starting VCA (10-1994) and VCH (12-1994) so a good guess would be 1995 - but you can get actual info from S&W if you send email to [email protected]

SCSW 4th Edition shows VCJ shipping in 1994, and VCS in 1995. Sorry, no VCU reported; I believe the list gets updated with each edition.

I have a VCK19xx that was made in Sept-1994 so I agree 1995 seems logical. You can call S&W too for an answer.
