MecGar 5900 series mags are your best bet. Cheap, plentiful and very reliable. I use them in my 5906 since NJ changed from a 15 round limit to 10.

Smile 5903 mags

Although I think S&W magazines are the best for their weapons , I have had great luck with Mec-Gar magazines over the years. With smith & wesson gradually shutting down the supply of parts and accessories for 3rd gen pistols, I am very happy a quality manufacturer like Mec-Gar is around!! Also it doesn't hurt that brand new mags are around $20/$25... Good luck.

There are still plenty of 5900 factory magazines around, nothing wrong with Mech-Gareither, do not touch Pro-Mag magazines (I do not know if they make these) if avoidable.Goodluck with the hunt and safe shooting!

Mec-Gar magazines are just fine and they may have actually been the manufacturer for S&W. Avoid ProMag magazines, unless you like clearing a jammed pistol.

I have Mec-Gar mags for just about every gun I have. I've never hada problem. I have 15 & 17 round Mec gar mags for my 59. I havent tried the 10rd, but I'm sure they'd be fine.
