Default New 945 Owner With ?

I just purchased a 945 from a fellow forum member.
Now I have a couple of questions:
What other magazines will work in this pistol?
What recoil springs interchange?
Any idea what the weight ratings are for the two supplied springs?

Thanks in advance for your input.

The full size, 8-rd 2nd/3rd Gen 4506 magazine is absolutely exactly the correct size, shape and everything to fit the 945 except the magazine catch is cut higher for the 945.

How exactly the same? Well, all the earliest 945 pistols shipped with a dual-cut altered 4506 magazine.

Making the proper modification is easy for those who are skilled at such work, but I hesitate to call it simple. Otherwise, there exists no other source outside of original (and so marked) 945 magazines.

Recoil spring should be exactly the same as OEM 4506 spring... going from memory but not certain, I think the original “hardball” spring is 14 pounds.

Thanks. My magazines have the two slots so I can easily duplicate the cut.

Awesome, if you can make the cut you need, there is an endless supply of 4506 mags out there.

The standard 4506 S&W recoil spring is PN# 201610000 (Midway PN#227209), it's 18#

The wadcutter 4506 S&W recoil spring in PN# 200710000 (Midway PN#336270), it's 14#. It's also used for the 5" Super 9 as the standard recoil spring.

You can get both recoil springs with S&W PN# 193020000 (Midway PN#514530).

For some unknown reason Wolff Springs calls their 14# recoil spring (#47314) the standard power spring. Their 18# recoil spring is #47318.
