Model 39 with ivory?
Been thinking of buying a set of faux ivory grips for my 39. Looking for pics. If anyone here has them, please share a pic of ivories on the gun. Thanks.

I've seen a few sets for sale on ebay. The also have faux pearl grips. I've looked at them thinking to put them on a nickel 39 but decided to keep the original woodies.

Well it is not a model 39
And it is not Faux Ivory
This is the third set of atoloader grips that I have purchased from a pawn shop over the years that thought they were fake grips.
I LOVE Pawn shops some of my best deals were made in Pawn shops where the kids did not want to take over the business and the owners did not like Computers

Genuine ivory grips are going to be almost as expensive as the pistol. Faux ivory would serve you better for many reasons. Price, durability, fragility, staining, cleaning. I doubt you'd be challenged on the grips but if you were stopped with it, you might need to provide proof the ivory is grandfathered before the ban went into effect. Really no good reason to have ivory grips today when really good faux ivory is almost indistinguishable.

This Thread kinda perkd up interest on ivory grips for a m-39.
Are these faux grips a white plastic or ivory dust that is a composite of some kind? Who makes them? They really would set off an engraved nickel 39!

You can not possibly believe that
Who would be doing this alleged stopping?

This isn't the greatest photo, but here's my cosmetically-challenged 39-2, wearing plastic ivory look-alikes:

I got what I’m sure are J Scott grips on my Nickel 39-2. It was supposedly a “Sheriff’s personal weapon” that was working/living in in Texas. Who really knows for sure but I kinda believe it as it had a nickeled spurless hammer on it too. The holster that came with it was a tooled, brown, (originally tan?,) RS OWB of really nice quality.
Some day if and or when I get an original nickel 39-2, I’ll put it back. I got a nickeled spurred hammer and original grips in the mean time.
Anyway here’s two pictures of what a couple of 39-2’s look like with plastic “ivory”. Not for me but I’m not prejudiced by others likes.

Thanks much for the pics guys. I just ordered a set. I will post photos after they arrive. I am considering carrying my 39-2 when I need to use a shoulder holster. Don't want the mint condition OEM checkered wood grips to get scuffed up. Total out the door cost is $64.19.

Here's an affordable alternative to ivory. Patrick Grashorn made these elk bone grips for my 39-2. They are very dense with no porous areas. He said these grips were as big, or wide that he could get from whatever elk bone he uses. I think they look great. No wonder I post this gun all the time. I got the grips a few years back and think they were around $125 back then.

The grips arrived. Two things: first, I did not notice they were made for ambi safety guns, which my 39 is not. Second: grips screw O rings will be required for the grips to be snug and not move on the frame. I have O rings for 1911s. I hope they will work. Second, I can live with the grips being made to fit ambi guns even thought I would have preferred they were not. About $64 delivered from Asia. Here are the obligatory pics:
