Default M39-2 Rear Sight

I go every Tuesday shooting with a couple of Cape retirees and then we do lunch . My one buddy has a pristine 39-2 that he was shooting . The rounds were hitting high right .

First , how do you remove the rear sight ?
Second , are there any adjustable sights that fit the 39-2 ?

It would be an awesome piece with an adjustable sight . I know a lot of you don't like them with those ears , but I like them so you can get the rounds on target .

Thanks for any help you can pass on to me .

The factory adjustable sight is worth a search.

Removing the rear sight is simple. You will note a small relieved semicircle notch at the front end of the sight leaf, which is forward of the rear sight proper. It's there so you can pry up the leaf with some sort of pointed tool. Once it's up over the slide surface, rotate the leaf to the left 90 degrees. Then the whole sight assembly can be lifted straight up. Under it is the magazine safety plunger. If that is removed with its spring, it will nullify the magazine safety and allow firing with the magazine removed.
