Default 6944 sight question

I just purchased a 6944 with curved Trigger Guard - S/N TZB67xx (Late Product Code 108138 1993 manufacture per SW Tech Support).
It has correct slide marked 6944 on inside, but appears to have early fixed sights installed in front section of slot for Novak sights which should have been on gun per SW. Appears to be a number in larger section of slot. Possibly 20046. Any ideas about number?

I would like to put this back to "correct" configuration with Novak low mount sights. Can anyone tell me whether this is possible and how difficult.
Thanks, Ed

It is the slide casting number.

No problem.

It is as easy as driving out the old sight and driving in the Novak sight.

One more question - I understand there were 512 6944's accounted for in the TFB0047-0558 s/n group. All I have seen pictures of in this range are original "D" shaped Trigger Guard - presumably Product Code 103124 and made in the 1991 production as they are listed in the 1991 S&W Catalog.

Mine and several others I have found pictures of have the Curved Trigger Guard (a couple in the TVD05xx and TVD06xx range, a single TZZ3317, and now 5 in the TZB6740-6817 range). Mine and two other TZB comes up Product Code 108138 and 1993 manufacture (per SW). This Product Code is Special Order (3rd variation Trigger Guard) per SCSW4. At least one of the Curved Trigger Guard pistols has Import Markings.

Any idea of where the additional PC 108138 Curved Trigger Guard 6944s went and when and how many were made - possibly 3 orders based on 3 serial number sets (??)

Sorry, ACEd.

I don't know the answer to that question.

Possibly a question to ask of Roy Jinks on the SWCA side of the Forum.
