Default Wear in (aka Break in) ammo for new Model 41?

Many on the web recommend CCI Mini-Mags or something of similar velocity even for higher quality self-loading 22 lr pistols. At least when the pistols were being worn in. That's what I did for my Buck Marks and Victory. However, I quit using the Mini-Mags once my function rate was 100%. That took anywhere from 1-50 rounds. Then I switched over to standard velocity fodder like CCI SV, Aguila SV, etc.

Any recommendations for the Model 41? From my research it appears S&W designed this pistol for standard velocity, and that's what I intend to do. But have any with new pistols found that a wear in period of a few dozen "warmer" rounds helped to get the pistol functioning quicker?

Doug

With respect, the 41 is a much more carefully fitted pistol than are the Buckmark and Victory. SV ammunition is what the 41 is designed to use. HV will certainly not ruin it, but giving that it is designed for precision target shooting, using SV ammunition would seem to be the wise choice for long term best results. Sincerely. bruce.

brucev is spot on....use standard velocity ammo, for many that means CCI 0032 standard velocity because it is proven and somewhat available.

Just use whatever ammo you are going to use all the time.
IMO no special "break in" ammo is required.

Ha, I like your choice of words" ...and somewhat available".

I've got maybe 200 rounds of CCI CV, but I do have another maybe 500 of combined CCI Pistol Match and Aguila SV I can use to wear in my new Model 41. Hopefully in another 6 months we can find additional SV to try. There are some interesting ones on the web, but none are available now. I also have about 3k of Lapua Center-X which I'd rather not use in the M41, but will if I cannot find any other suitable SV ammunition.

I do have a lot of miscellaneous "high velocity" bulk pack stuff I can use in my other 22s that will tolerate it; which is probably all of them.

Thanks for the confirmation on the SV!
