Will S&W adjustable revolver sights fit 1006 adjustable sights?
Obvious question here:
Will S&W adjustable revolver sights fit a 1006 with adjustable sights?
It looks as if they will -- and the suggestion is they will.
Has anyone tried it -- with what results?
The simple reason is my eyes don't pick up the Novak 3-dots any more -- and the revolver outline looks better.
Plus, night sights were available sometime back in revolver configuration -- and that would expand options if the operation is workable.
Thanks!

1006 adjustable rear sight

I previously posted:
The rear sight blade & it's windage screw are not the same as on S&W revolver adjustable sights even though at first glance they might appear so. However, the windage screw's nut is the same as the ones used on S&W revolver adjustable sights.
I wanted to replace the 1006's rear blade as it had some minor damage. The new replacement 2-dot blade I purchased did not come with it's dots painted; weird. Because it's rear dots were slightly smaller than the front dot I decided to just go with a white outline rear blade (.146") used on the revolvers, which I had an assortment of on-hand.
The auto blade's threads are the same, diameter & pitch, as on the revolvers. The revolver's blade fits but is too wide (.530" vs .495") to allow it the full range of adjustment so each end to the blade needs to be filed down, contoured & blued to shorten it up.
Once reassembled the nut needs to be staked on the screw the same way you do on a revolver by slightly flaring the screw's hollow end where it pass thru the nut, so it won't come off when adjusting the sight's windage.

Bluedot37,
Great info! Just what I needed!
Suddenly, 3rd Gens with adjustable sights aren't off-limits to me now...And THAT'S a big deal.

How's your converted Model 4013 held up in 10mm?
Bluedot37,
How does your converted-to-10mm 1013/ 4013 shoot?
How has it held up -- and what issues have you encountered? How much ammo have you put through it -- and how hot have you dared to shoot?
Exactly what was involved in the conversion -- and are you still doing them?

Hi, Outrider, lots of questions but I'll keep it brief here.
The 1013 shoots fine. The LPA sights work good. My last note said I was at (810+) on the 10AUTO round count thru it.
Got side tracked on other projects & toys so it hasn't been shot in a while. Last time out is when I was doing 10AUTO chrono testing & compared it to the 1006 & 610's velocity.
I shot the same full handloads in the 1013 as the 1006. It might be happier with a slightly reduced load but no real difference.
No wear issues noticed at this point.
One reoccurring issue is the top round of the loaded magazine popping out of the magazine during firing (which I've had happen on un-modified 3rd Gens also) & landing on the floor.
The other is randomly the slide locks back with ammo still in the magazine. This too has happened on other un-modified 3rd Gens also, like my 4040PD.
I think these are recoil induced problems & slight lighter loads eliminate them.
There's more in my thread on the 4013/1013 conversion so take a look at if you haven't already & we can talk about it more over there at:
Genesis: 4013 to 1013 to 1016
.
Do you...

I haven't had any issues with what you describe. I had an issue with the last round jumping out of gun when it was still 40S&W. Once I converted the mag to 10mm, I haven't had any reliability issues. The gun has been 100% as a 10mm. Haven't kept track of the round count.
