Stick with Wolff. S&W isn't very likely to have any given how long the 52 has been out of production!
Wolff does this for a living - they can be trusted.

Default 52-2

I've been having trouble with the trigger resetting when the slide closes. I'm going to give it a good cleaning as there's just a tad of carbon buildup in the locking lugs. Just a wild guess, but,I suspect this could be inhibiting lockup and disconnector engagement. Then, a new recoil spring. Any other suggestions would be appreciated.

sounds like the upper trigger screw might need an adjustment. There is a specific routine to adjust trigger play, upper and lower. you will need an allen wrench.
