Hello, I am new to the forum joined in hopes of getting some information on 2 Model 41-1 pistols

First is serial number 27834, no box
Second is serial number A304231 with a cardboard box

it seems from some searches here that these may be quite collectable and valuable.

Any information on these would be helpful, manufacture date, approximate value, etc.

They are collectable pistols. I have a couple myself, half are shown in my avatar.
The first one 27834 was made 1960/61 and most likely shipped mid 1961. It's a good looking pistol last time I seen it apart from a minor chip on the left stock.
The other A304231 was assembled from parts and shipped in , my guess, Jan 1977. I would like to see pictures of both of these guns. If you post pictures you will get a valuation.

Can I ask about my model 41 on this post? Or do I need to start my own? I am new to this site and don’t want to mess up? Thanks Jason

I have been given Dads 41-1 bought in 60ish Serial# 27831. Think these were made in Maine at one time? Down a few cities from us. Buy local. He rarely used it in competitions he said. It was parked by the mid 60's cause it was 22shorts and too nice to use. It is still polished with the tools and the 44-1part breakdown sheet. I was hoping to take it out and use it a tad, but I see its kind of a collectors now that I've looked it up. I drooled over this since about 1969 when I first saw the shine and held it. A 5 shot mag is kind of a pain. So- can one get a barrel/slide/clip conversion to take it up to a 22LR? It was his Closet Cadillac for 60 yrs. So Im a NEW poster looking at what I should do with this pistol, use it just look at it .... and keep it fresh.

Any Model 41 barrel will fit on the frame. You will need a different steel Model 41 slide and .22LR slide stop to use with .22LR ammunition. Your current slide is aluminum. You will also need standard Model 41 .22LR magazines (not clips). These parts are available on the various auction sites. My opinion would be to purchase another complete .22LR pistol because by the time you locate and purchase what you want you will almost have as much into a complete pistol.

Shooters and collectors look at things differently.

I have a "collectable" no prefix M41 that I shot regularily in Gallery Bulls eye matches it sports a newer "drilled and tapped" barrel and red dot. It was purchased new in 1962 and still shoots and looks as new even after 20-30,000 round fired!

M41's are not top tier bulls-eye guns out of the box!

A search on Gun Broker will show prices in the range of $850-1150 for M41's. New M41's are in the $1,000-$1,200 range if you can find one. Barrels, slides and other options are fairly common on gun sales sites!

M41's bought in these price ranges will hold their value depending on condition.

Buy one shoot it and love it!

Thanks so much for your opinion... sounds like the best advice. I don't want to bang it up since its so nice anyway. I just took over his target case he made in 59 this week, so As I am looking up the 41-1, I'm seeing there is too few options to go this rout and its too rare to bashup. There are lots more of those older 4's to share I hope. Ill keep his in a glass box after I shoot is a few times. My son is a 3rd yr westpoint cadet so I will put his 2022 1911 45 class pistol in the same case(after a few shots). (only 1500 US avail next fall!) he will likely get this closet cadi in 20 yrs.

Hello my3sons, I dont think you are going to bang it up taking it to the range in a padded zipper case. Shoot it, its fun and cheap.

The newer one from the 80's was sold to finance a dedicated Nelson, Fusion Bulls-eye gun!
