I have a model 41 with a serial number of 10211. It has a 5.5” barrel drilled and tapped, and I was wondering if the barrel is original to the pistol and what year it was produced ? Once I figure out how to load an attachment I will 6E4726CF-99B7-48BB-ABF2-3DBBEB8BC9A3.jpg. Thank you in advance! Jason

That’s a very early frame with a newer barrel on it. It would have originally shipped with a 7 3/8” barrel with muzzle brake or false muzzle. I wouldn’t be too up set since that’s still a great combo. One of the great things about Model 41s is the ability to change barrels easily. You should be able to find a period correct longer barrel for it if desired. You would want one with the lazy ampersand in the S&W.

Nice early gun. As already pointed out the barrel is later, the HB came out about 5 years after your gun. Also the grips are replacement.
Enjoy shooting it
