My CS Family
I started off easy , one of each Chiefs special . Then I got the 100mm bug and I had BMCM convert my CS40 to 10mm . At this point I was happy .
Then my thinking got me in trouble . I don't officially have a CS40 anymore . Thinking like any red blooded S&W aficionado , what to do ? Of course , buy another CS40 . So I took a friends advice and tried that big board . My first purchase I scored a NIB CS40 , never been shot .
So now the family is whole again . I might be forced to find them some brother and sisters , but that's for another time .

Ya got more than I do! Would like to own a blued CS-9. Sure wish S&W would make even a limited run of the CS series. Would not take long to sell out I am sure. This is one model I can see future prices climbing on good condition ones. Nice collection by the way.

I’ve got that same addiction. I’m still a few short of one in every possible variation (including finish). Always on the hunt.

Sorry NCB. But the four DAOs I have still haven’t made for a complete collection. They’re quite elusive.

Well, if you don’t care about rapid finish wear, yes they are a nice one to have. Mine is getting pretty worn but that’s OK.
Unfortunately if you use/carry one, the black finish wears pretty quick if that’s a factor. That is also true even with the “high end” PC examples. I’m really not sure why S&W didn’t use a more durable finish. Maybe it’s just the holsters I use?

A shame concerning the finish as some have noted. As for me I would have preferred S&W gave em a high polish bluing to begin with.

CS Addiction Sure I'd enjoy having a few but..............
So far I have none, would really be satisfied with a CS 9 S to jump start the collection.

These were "Value Line" guns and so didn't have a high polish finish. In fact, I don't think even the regular 3rd Gens had high polish finishes. Maybe not the 2nd Gen either for that matter.

I am fortunate to own three. Two CS9s and one CS45. The CS9s - one is early production, black with plastic sights. The other is a very late production, stainless LE surplus with Novak night sights and ambi safety.
All three wear the excellent TercGen grips. Which IMO they should have come from the factory with. If my CS45 had not gotten the TercGen grips, it would probably not still be in my safe. The CS45 wearing the OEM factory Hogue rubber, did nothing my 4513TSW, early rail free, didn't do better.
As it is, the LE CS9 is my most carried 9mm pistol. I use it in hot/humid weather and on those occasions where I "can't have a gun" like Church and social gatherings with non gun folks. Or when I am tired or just lazy.
The CS9 is one of my favorite carry guns. After decades of carrying various 45s, including light weight models with aluminum frames, carrying a CS9 is like not having a gun on. The first few times wearing one, I experienced a cold stab of fear thinking I'd lost it. No, it was still there. Securely in its holster. It was just hard to tell it was there.
The CS9 Is also fast handling. A requirement for the role it was designed for. Up close and personal self defense, with deep concealment. I have had occasion to draw and point mine. And I can tell you that the only person, other than the miscreant it got drawn on, more surprised at how fast it was drawn and pointed on target, was me. Great little carry gun.
380 sized pistol with 9mm ballistics. Perfect, with the right load, for me. Regards 18DAI

Just purchased a CS40 off of GB this morning, using BuyNow at what I thought was a decent price by today's standard. It came with a holster and three mags. It appears in decent shape. It is two toned, blued frame/stainless slide. I hope the one bid that was on it wasn't a forum member. It will join my two CS9s and CS9D.

I’ve only got 2 1/2, only 2 1/2.
I had the 45, bundled the 9 with a tiny Beretta for cheap, then five years ago passed on a 40. I was not interested in anything .40 even if it was a CS I didn’t have.
I’m more than warming up to the .40 now. There was a complete CS40 top end/w mag being offered but I needed to get “JohnHL’s “ advice first. (Hope my apostrophe is correct.) I got it for cheap and it is perfect on my 45 lower. My thanks to John once again. Also thanks to “oldman10mm for all the 4513tsw mag bases. Most of my CS45 and CS40 magazines have the bases I got from him.
I’m still looking for a CS40 barrel or better yet another complete 40 top end. I think a S&W CS45/40/10 convertible would be ultimate.

I picked up a CS9 last year at auction after an unsuccessful local search. I added a low profile single-sided safety body, slide stop and TercGen grips.
Naturally, a short time later one showed up on Armslist about 80 miles away. I sort-of had no choice.
